My husband wasn’t a fan of having photos taken professionally, so he was naturally cautious about hiring a professional photographer. I approached Smilie, and warned him about the concerns my husband had. But we had nothing to worry about…. After talking to Smilie, my husband was really happy to proceed. He was really easy to talk to and approached any concerns we had, which immediately made us feel at ease.

Even convinced us to have a pre-wedding shoot, which we were both against at first, but we are so happy that we listened to him. The pre-wedding shoot gave both us and Smilie a chance to get to know what we liked and what we didn’t like. The photos he took were great, and he utilised these by making a video clip for our reception, and also a guest book where our guests were able to write their messages for us.

We had three ceremonies that needed to be captured, our Indian Wedding and Civil Marriage ceremonies and our Reception party.

It wasn't the dress, the venue or thankfully the groom that was worrying me, but the photos. Call me vain but like any bride I wanted the photos to be perfect. This was going to be the one day in my whole life that I felt beautiful, that my husband looked gorgeous and that my family and friends looked their best and I wanted the photos to reflect this.

I was always a little sceptical about photographers, I mean everyone has camera phones nowadays surely I could just ask my friends to take photos. This was until a friend recommended Smilin Occasionz. After seeing her amazing wedding photos taken by, I contacted him to arrange a consultation. From our first conversation I felt excited and reassured about the photos for my big day. He went through everything very thoroughly from the cameras and lighting used to the order of the day and costs. There was no pushy hard sell, which I have encountered with other photographers, just a friendly and professional service.

My husband and I met up with a few weeks before the wedding for a wedding pre shoot. I must admit I wasn't that keen at first, but I'm so glad I did it. My husband and I learned how to stand, what positions were most flattering and how to get the best out of our photos. This meant that on the day we didn't waste time thinking about how to stand, we had practised so we knew exactly what to do. It also meant that Smilie knew exactly what we wanted on the day and how to get the best out of us. My husband was quite shy at first, by the end if the photo shoot he had gained so much confidence and the pictures really reflected this.

I would highly recommend a pre shoot to anyone! So...the wedding day arrived, the house was manic, full of makeup artists, hairdressers, family, etc. and Smile and his team arrived amid all the chaos. They were so calm and professional, they didn't get in anyone's way and didn't intrude, and, yet when I look at the pictures today I can't believe they managed to take so many fantastic pictures without me realising. Smilie even helped my dad with his buttonhole! As we arrived at the church and his team were there and made me and my family feel so at eaThis continued throughout the church service and throughout the reception. As the evening reception got going Smilie asked me and my husband to come outside for a photo as the sun was setting, at first I didn't want to leave the reception, but I'm so glad we went outside. The photo was just amazing, so romantic and beautiful.
